How Do I Search For Technical Indicators In TradingView?

TradingView has hundreds of prebuilt indicators and even more community built indicators you can apply to your charts. It is almost guaranteed that the TradingView platform has the Technical Indicator that performs the function you need.

If by some chance, TradingView does not have the Indicator you are after, you can always create the Indicator yourself, using the Pine Script Programming language. Or, better yet, ask a community member to collaborate or commission them to build you an Indicator.

What Technical Indicators can I find on TradingView?

Popular indicators found on TradingView include:

  •         Average True Range (ATR)
  •         Bollinger Bands
  •         The Relative Strength Index (RSI)
  •         Price Volume Trend
  •         The Moving Average Convergence/Divergence (MACD)
  •         The Ichimoku Cloud
  •         Williams Alligator
  •         And the Exponential Moving Average (EMA)

How To Search For Technical Indicators In TradingView

To search for and apply Technical Indicators, find the ‘fx indicators’ icon in the top toolbar on a charting screen. Click this icon to bring up a window that lets you search the Indicator library.

In this window, you will find a search toolbar and tabs on the left side of the window that allows you to filter by category; ‘Built-ins’, ‘Community Scripts’, and ‘Invite-only scripts’. As you begin typing, the search bar suggests Indicators related to your input. This handy feature can aid your search if you are not entirely sure what Indicator you want or are unsure of its name.

Please note: While TradingView does have a significant number of Technical Indicators to choose from, the number you can use on one chart depends on the type of TradingView account you possess. TradingView’s Basic free version allows for three Indicators per chart, while the paid accounts (Pro, Pro+, and Premium) allow 5, 10, and 20 Indicators per chart, respectively.
